OLEAN, N.Y. - Cleveland State's Emily Splain swam a lifetime best time of 2:13.16 in the 200 backstroke to take runner-up honors as the Vikings fell at St. Bonaventure, 146-82, on Saturday afternoon in nonconference action.

"I thought we had a number of excellent swims today, including a lifetime best by Emily," head coach Wally Morton said. "We are continuing to get better each week and are looking forward to swimming against another league opponent next weekend."

The Vikings won the 400 freestyle relay, the final event of the day, with the team of Carys Behn, Splain, Kristina Nagy and Kristine Bunker recording a time of 3:39.90.

CSU also had five second place showings and a third place finish by the 400 medley relay team of Splain, Rachel Arzadon, Katie Bellew and Brittany Tweardy.

Behn took second place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.60, finishing just 0.11 seconds out of the lead. It was the first time this season that Behn did not win a race.

Bellew finished as the runner-up in the 200 butterfly, while Erin Green was second in the 500 freestyle and Arzadon second in the 200 breaststroke with a season-best time of 2:33.71.

CSU will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 7, when the Vikings head to Youngstown for dual meets against Youngstown State and Niagara beginning at 6:00 p.m.
