The Starting Block
The Vikings will face a pair of Horizon League teams this weekend at the site of the #HLSD Championships.

Last Time Out
Cleveland State is coming off a 165-135 setback against Bowling Green in its Pink Meet this past Saturday. The Vikings won six individual races on the day: Ana Sofia Sousa (100 & 200 Free), Madison Taker (1000 Free), Grace Chelf (50 Free), Kellsie Krisch (200 Breast), and Mackenzie Lipnick (500 Free). The women also claimed both relays on the afternoon.

Swimmer of the Week
Ana Sofia Sousa was named the Horizon League Under Armour Swimmer of the Week after winning two individual races and anchoring both winning relays against Bowling Green.

About IUPUI
The Jags are 3-3 on the year and are coming off a third-place finish at the Indiana Intercollegiate after scoring 222 points. IUPUI was voted to finish second again this season after placing second at the 2023 Horizon League Championships behind Oakland.

Series With IUPUI
This will be the seventh matchup against the Jags, with IUPUI holding a 4-2 advantage since 2018. These two teams last met in 2020 in a neutral site swim, with the Vikings dropping both days, 156-142 and 165.50-128.50.

About Milwaukee
Milwaukee will be swimming at home against UIC on Friday before traveling over to Indianapolis on Saturday. The Panthers started their season with a 225.5-74.5 loss to Indiana State and then competed at the Wisconsin Showcase this past weekend. UWM won all but one event at the showcase, with Janelle Schulz winning three races and Erika Thomas winning two. On the board, Julie Rebak claimed both events.

Series with UWM
The lone meet with these two teams came in 2019 with the Panthers coming out on top, 165.5-132.5.

About the Vikes
Hannah Burandt is entering her fifth season as the head coach, Chalmers McGillivray is in second as the diving coach, and Trent Richardson is in his first as the assistant swim coach. The Green and White returned 14 athletes while welcoming nine freshmen to the team.

Preseason Rankings
Cleveland State was picked to finish fifth in the Horizon League preseason poll.

On the Horizon
The Green and White will spend the entire month of November at home, starting with a dual against Youngstown State on Saturday, November 4 at 11 a.m.
