Vikings Wrap Up Action At Ohio State Winter Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up action at the Ohio State Winter Invite Sunday, with five Vikings competing in five different events.

For the women, Larissa Czupik and Abigail Kaple both competed in the 200 Freestyle and 50 Freestyle. In the 200 free, Czupik finished third with a time of 1:56.62, while Kaple placed eighth with a time of 2:02.97. In the 50 free, Czupik finished 13th in a time of 25.18, while Kaple posted a time of 25.19 to finish 14th.

On the men's side, Alex Strawser had Cleveland State's highest finish Sunday, placing sixth in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:03.03. Ryan Johnson and Alex Strawser both competed in the 200 Breaststroke, Johnson finishing 11th with a time of 2:12.21 and Strawser placing 12th in a time of 2:14.74.

Terrence Morris also competed for the Vikings Sunday, placing 18th in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:49.18.

The Vikings will now take a week off from competition, before returning to the pool for the Horizon League Championship. The 2015-16 championship will be hosted by Oakland University and will take place Wednesday, February 24 through Saturday, February 27 in Rochester, Michigan.
