Swimming Closes 2015 With Dual At Canisius

The Cleveland State swimming and diving teams will head to New York for a Friday (Dec. 18) dual-meet at Canisius beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The meet at Canisius is the Vikings first dual in over a month (Nov. 12 at Ohio State), competing in their annual CSU Magnus Cup and the Akron Zippy Invitational in between. The men currently stand at 3-2 in dual meets on the year, the women at 2-6.

Phillip Sikatzki has lead the Viking men thus far in 2015, earning Horizon League swimmer of the week twice and breaking multiple records in the process. Senior diver Danny Roberts, also claiming a Horizon League diver of the week, has continued his success and taken first place in nearly every event he has participated in so far.

For the women, freshman Molly McNamara, taking home several first-place finishes in her first collegiate year of swimming, and junior Anna Evans have led the way for the Vikings.

The meet at Canisius will be the final event of 2015 for the swimming and diving teams. The Vikings will open 2016 with their annual Holiday Invitational before returning for the spring semester. Horizon League opponents UIC (Jan. 15) and Wright State (Jan. 16) will visit Busbey Natatorium in the final home meets for CSU.
