Viking Men in Fifth While Women in Seventh Going Into the Final Day

Brown Deer, WI - The Cleveland State men and women's swimming and diving team competed in day three of the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championship hosted by Milwaukee at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center. The men have tallied 336 points (Fifth Place) while the women scored 161 points (Seventh Place) through day three.

In the finals for the men, Philipp Sikatzki had an outstanding day. He had a first place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 47.46 and another first place finish in the 100 backstroke with an impressive time of 47.67. Gage Alleman finished the 400 IM in fifth with a final time of 3:57.98. Nathan Grant finished the 100 breaststroke in sixth with a final time of 55.75. 

For the women, Madisen Tretter placed third in the 100 breaststroke with a final time 1:03.01, just .01 behind second place. Samantha Sposet finished in eighth in the finals with a score of 225.80. 

The Vikings will be back in the pool tomorrow for the final day of the Horizon League Championship, with prelims beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the finals starting at 7:00 p.m. (central time zone). Men's 1-meter diving, 1650 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and 400 freestyle relay will headline day three's events.
