Swimming and Diving to Host Canisius Tuesday

THIS WEEK: The Cleveland State men and women's swimming and diving team will be in action this week, hosting Canisus for the City Dual Meet Invitational (Dec. 2) at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium. Events will begin at 3:00 p.m.

REVIEWING LAST MEET: The men and women's swimming and diving team had strong weekends (Nov. 21-23) with the men placing first and the women placing fifth, where they hosted ten total schools for the CSU Magnus Cup. The Viking men are 2-4, while the women are also 2-4 on the year. 

Madisen Tretter had a strong performance at the CSU Magnus Cup for the women. Tretter won the 200 breast with a time of 2:29.13 and placed second in the 100-Breaststroke with a time of 1:02.99.  She also broke a CSU school record in the 200-Breaststroke (2:16.88). Samantha Sposet placed second in the 1 meter diving with a score of 270.30 

The men were led by Philipp Sikatzki, who placed first in four individual events. He garnered NCAA Division I B-cut times in the 100-Butterfly and 100-Backstroke, which was also a CSU school record (100-Backstroke). Sikatzki also earned Swimmer of the Week (Nov. 19-24) in the Horizon League with his memorable performance. Danny RobertsGage Alleman and Phillip Brittain also had strong performances at the CSU Magnus Cup.

The Viking men and women will move on to the USA Winter National Championships from Thursday-Saturday (Dec. 4-6).
