Tiffany Stocker Earns Spot On Lousville Slugger Great Lakes Region Second Team

May 16, 2001

Cleveland State junior centerfielder Tiffany Stocker (Sherrodsville, OH/Conotton Valley) was selected to the Louisville Slugger Great Lakes Region Second Team today. Last week Stocker was named to the All-Midwestern Collegiate Conference First Team.

In her third season with the Vikings Stocker led the team in batting average (.368), at-bats (182), hits (67), runs (31), triples (3), total bases (74) and stolen bases (41). In addition, Stocker led the team with a perfect fielding percentage. Stocker was first in the MCC in stolen bases, second in triples, third in batting average and fourth in hits. However, her 1.29 hits per game ranked first in the conference. The Sherrodsville native also owned the best fielding percentage in the MCC.

Stocker, who will be a senior next season, shattered the Vikes' career stolen bases record as a sophomore. She broke her own record for swipes in a season this year with 41 and now has 99 in her career. Stocker also owns the record for most hits in a year, collecting 67 this season. She also is CSU's all-time leader in triples with nine and holds a career batting average of .314, placing her second in the school's history.
