Danielle Young has helped to solidify the Viking outfield unit the last two seasons, emerging last year as one of the top all-around performers in the Horizon League. She is once again expected to anchor the outfield from her centerfield spot while providing an offensive spark to the lineup while batting in one of the top two spots in the order.
2008 - JUNIOR SEASON
Starter in all 49 games...hit .286 with 44 hits, three doubles, four triples, four homeruns, 22 RBI and 11 stolen bases...second-team All-Horizon League selection...tied for team lead in triples (4)...ranked 41st among all Division I players in triples...ranked among leaders in Horizon League triples (tied 3rd, 4) and steal attempts (tied 8th, 16)...had three of CSU's four hits including an RBI single vs. Detroit (4/10)...went 3-for-5 with three RBI vs. Robert Morris (4/3)...recorded three-hit games three times (4/3, 4/10, 4/15)...two six-game hit streaks during season.
2007 - SOPHOMORE SEASON
Saw action in 45 games at right field, including 38 as a starter in right field...hit .297 with eight doubles, 16 runs and 22 RBI...collected 10 multi-hit games...went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI against Detroit (5/5)...drove in three RBI against UIC in the Horizon League Championship (5/12).
2006 -FRESHMAN SEASON
Appeared in 19 games, mostly as a pinch-runner...scored five runs on the season, including a pair in the Horizon League Championship...earned start in left field against Maine (3/15).
HIGH SCHOOL
Honorable mention All-Ohio pick as a first baseman/outfielder...first team all-district as a senior after twice earning second team honors... four-time first team all-league selection... set school season record with a .612 average as a senior... also lettered in basketball and volleyball.
