Jackie Cornelius will start behind the plate for the second straight year. One of four seniors on the team, she will be looked to for leadership and will be relied on to provide an offensive punch.

2004 - Junior Season

Started all 52 games she played in, hitting .270 with a pair of home runs, nine RBI and three stolen bases...ranked 10th in the league with 12 doubles...had 11 multi-hit games...posted .993 fielding pct...batted .565 (13-23) during eight-game hitting streak from March 14-19...went 4-for-6 with two doubles and three runs in doubleheader sweep of IPFW (4/15)...was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI versus Southeast Missouri State (3/18)...went 3-for-4 against Yale (3/13).

2003 - Sophomore Season

Played in 31 games, starting 17...hit .185 with, three doubles and two home runs...tallied 10 runs while driving in six...recorded six steals...posted 15 put-outs and two assists without committing an error...drove in two runs against Dayton on March 8 and again on March 9 at the Marshall Tournament.

2002 - Freshman Season

Started 15 of her 30 appearances...had two RBI against Youngstown State on April 24 and Detroit on April 27.

High School

Honorable mention all-state and first-team all-district as a senior...earned all-league and all-city honors both as a junior and senior...team captain and MVP 1999-2001...earned four letters in softball...also lettered four seasons in basketball and two in volleyball...named second-team all-state and first team all-district and all-league in basketball her senior year.

Born Aug. 19, 1982...daughter of Rick and Sue Cornelius...has a younger brother, Ricky, and a younger sister, Abbie...special education major...vice-president of CSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Council...Athletic Academic Excellence Award winner.
