Cleveland State Softball Hosts Robert Morris in Final #HLSB Regular Season Series

Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland State softball team is set to host Robert Morris at Viking Field today in the final regular season series of the season for both teams. There will be lots at stake over the three-game series as the Vikings push towards the postseason with a chance to host next week's Horizon League Tournament here in Cleveland.

Cleveland State and RMU are neck and neck in the league standings, with the Colonials holding a half-game lead over the Vikings headed into the series. RMU is third with an 11-8 conference record and CSU is right behind at 11-9.

The Vikings look to rebound after dropping the previous two league series on the road at Oakland and Youngstown State. Cleveland State has had success at home so far this season with a 5-3 record at Viking Field, including wins in five of the last six contests in Cleveland.

Becky Hurosky has been swinging a hot bat for the Vikings in conference play, and is currently tied for first in multiple stat categories headed into the final weekend. She is tied for the lead with 19 RBI as well as seven doubles in Horizon League action. Emily Yacapraro is second in the league with a .421 batting average.

RMU is also looking to get back on track headed into the conference tournament, having dropped its previous series at home against Oakland.

Game one of the series gets underway at 3:00 p.m. EST. A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday with games at 1:00 and 3:00. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as we will celebrate senior day prior to the start of Saturday's doubleheader.
