Cleveland State Softball Embarks on 14-Game Road Trip

LONGWOOD, Florida – The Vikings are about to embark on a 14-game trip, beginning on March 6 until March 14 in Longwood, Florida. Cleveland State's schedule is as follows:

The Vikings currently hold a 3-6 overall record, having dropped their last three contests. Junior Sydney Bajusz is leading the way for the Vikings, smashing a team-leading three homeruns, driving in eight runs in nine games. Bajusz's three homeruns are good for fourth-most in the Horizon League this season.

In Cleveland State's first game against Wagner on Saturday, Feb. 29, the Aurora, Illinois, native smacked two homeruns and drove in six runs, leading the Vikings to a 13-3 victory.

Aly Packish, Kaelin Ettinger and Courtney Fernette have each notched a homerun this season, while Mackenzie Tucker has a batting average of .389 and Lindsay Ward has a .385 average, good for eighth and ninth in the Horizon League, respectively.

Kelly Hysong has been lights out from the circle this season, fanning 29 batters in 30.0 innings pitched. The senior only has eight earned runs on the season, notching a 1.87 ERA, which is third-best in the Horizon League.

Following Cleveland State's 14-game spring break preseason tournament, the Vikings will begin Horizon League play at IUPUI on Friday, March 20, for a three-game trip.
