ABOUT THE VIKINGS:
    •    Fifth-seeded Cleveland State opens play in the Horizon League Championship with a first round game against fourth-seeded Green Bay on Wednesday (May 11) at 1:00 pm ET in Chicago.
    •    The winner advances to face top-seeded UIC at 1:00 pm on Thursday (May 12), while the loser will face an elimination game at 6:00 pm ET on Wednesday against the loser of third-seeded Youngstown State and sixth-seeded Valparaiso.
    •    UIC will host the tournament as the top seed, while Wright State is the No. 2 seed.
    •    The Vikings concluded the regular season with a 19-30 record and went 12-12 in the League.
    •    CSU closed the season by winning 11 of its final 16 games after opening League play with a 1-7 record.
    •    Senior Erica McNew was named the Horizon League Player of the Year and was a first team all-league pick for the fourth straight year.
    •    McNew led the League in average (.492), home runs (14) and RBI (48). She was also tops in the League in slugging (.903), on-base percentage (.659), walks (61) and intentional walks (23), which is tied for the sixth most in a season in NCAA history.
    •    McNew ranks first in school history with a .410 batting average and is second in runs (139), hits (216), home runs (50) and RBI (147). She is two runs, five hits, seven homers and one RBI shy of tying the CSU career records.
    •    In the latest NCAA stats, McNew ranks second in the nation in batting average and on-base percentage and is sixth in slugging percentage
    •    Senior Katelind Phillips joined McNew on the all-league first team. It was the first time Phillips was named to an all-league team in her career.
    •    She is fourth in the League with a .385 average and is third with 62 hits and fifth with 12 doubles.
    •    Phillips made 19 starts at shortstop this year, 17 in the outfield, eight at third base and five at second base.
    •    Phillips ranks fifth in CSU history with a .343 average, seventh with 182 hits and ninth with 30 doubles.
    •    Riley Ries was voted to the Horizon League All-Newcomer team after hitting .296 with eight doubles, three homers (2 grand slams) and 30 RBI.
    •    Senior Alyson Broschk is batting .288 with nine doubles, six homers and 30 RBI this year. She has 103 career RBI, one of just seven players in school history with at least 100 runs batted in for a career.
    •    Susan Knight led the CSU pitching staff with seven wins, a 3.55 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 25 games (22 starts) this year.
    •    In her last five starts, all complete games, Knight is 5-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 22 strikeouts. She has given up just 13 runs (nine earned) over the 35 innings.
    •    Freshman Macy Kaisk went 6-8 with a 4.20 ERA, eight complete games and 46 strikeouts this year. She also has one shutout.
    •    Kaisk, Knight and Kristin Catalano all have one save this year. It is the first time in CSU history that three players recorded a save in the same season.
    •    CSU owns a win over then No. 20-ranked Baylor, defeating the Bears, 5-4, in the second game of a doubleheader on March 15 in Waco, Texas.
    •    The winner of the League tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. The selection show is scheduled for Sunday (May 15) at 10:00 pm on ESPNU.
