Vikings Fall in Series Finale to UIC

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State dropped the series final to UIC, 10-0, in Saturday afternoon at Viking Field as the Flames won the series over CSU this weekend, 2-1.

CSU fell to 8-20 overall and 1-2 in the Horizon League, while the Flames improved to 19-11 overall and 5-1 in League play.

After splitting a doubleheader yesterday, the Flames took control today, scoring six runs in the third and three more in the fourth and the final tally in the fifth inning on Kaleigh Nagle's second solo home run of the game.

Emma Nicholas had CSU's lone hit of the game, a bunt single to lead off the third inning. She stole second with one out, but would not advance any further.

UIC's Elanie Heflin struck out six to earn the win.

CSU is back in action for a three-game League series at Wright State next weekend, playing a single game on Friday (April 8) and a doubleheader on Saturday (April 9).
