Women's Soccer Announces 2010 Schedule

A total of 10 home games, the most any Viking women's soccer team will play in school history, highlight the 2010 Cleveland State schedule that was announced on Wednesday (June 2) afternoon.

CSU will kick off the season with six of the first seven games being played at Krenzler Field. The season gets underway against Marshall on August 22.

After Marshall, the Vikings will face Gannon (Aug. 27), Kent State (Aug. 29), the University of Missouri-Kansas City (Sept. 3) and Canisius (Sept. 5) before finally playing their first road game of the season at Ohio State (Sept. 8). CSU will then come back home for a game against Ohio University (Sept. 9) before embarking on a three-game road trip.

Following a trip to Bowling Green, Ohio for a matchup with the Falcons (Sept. 12), the Vikings will travel to Seattle, Wash. to face Washington (Sept. 17) and Seattle University (Sept. 19).

CSU will kick off Horizon League action with a match against Green Bay (Sept. 24) beginning a three-game homestand. The homestand culminates with games against Horizon League Champion Milwaukee (Sept. 26) and Youngstown State (Oct. 1).

The Vikings will then travel to Illinois for a game against Loyola (Oct. 8), before going to Michigan to face Detroit (Oct. 10).

After closing out the season at home against Wright State (Oct. 15), the Vikings will face league tournament runner-up Valparaiso (Oct. 22) and Butler (Oct. 24) on the road to finish up the regular season schedule.

The Horizon League Championship will begin on Oct. 30 with quarterfinal action played at campus sites. The semifinals will be played on Nov. 5 and the finals of the tournament will be played on Nov. 7 at the top seed's location.
