NCAA Leadership Conference

NCAA Leadership Conference

May 31, 2009

For those that do not know, I will do a quick recap. I was nominated for the NCAA Leadership Conference and then later selected to attend the conference held in Orlando May 24-27.

This was one of the best opportunities I have been given and I am so glad I got the chance to go. I learned so much about who I was and where I am in my life right now. It was good to see myself in eyes of people I had just met, it really is a wake up call.

While learning about myself, I also got to learn about others and their various techniques on leadership and how they deal with situations. This helps to get different perspectives on issues and keep an open-mind.

We attended different sessions such as personal branding, energy management, attention control and strategic planning process. These sessions were awesome and I really learned a lot from them, especially energy management.

The conference was just an amazing experience and really helped me critique my leadership skills and myself. I learned so much from the conference and the many other student-athletes I met. I wish everyone could go and experience the conference.

At the end of the conference, Joe Ehrmann, was our last speaker. He was absolutely amazing and inspiring. He was very powerful in his words and his message. The experience was amazing and something that I will take with me for years to come. Thank you to all those that made it possible for me to go, it truly was a remarkable experience.
