CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Five high school student-athletes representing four different states, have signed national letters of intent to attend Cleveland State University and play women's soccer beginning in the fall of 2010. Head coach Derrek Falor made the announcement on Thursday, the first day high school student-athletes were permitted to sign letters of intent.

Signing with the Vikings are Maggie Conrad (South Park, PA), Frederike Dubeau (Kent, WA), Taylor Miller (Avon Lake, OH), Parisa Sadrnia (Troy, MI) and Taylor Vidovic (Twinsburg, OH). Each player will enter CSU as a freshman with four years of eligibility.

"With our 2010 class I feel like we are filling in some key areas on the roster that were created after last fall," Falor said. "Our team defense will see an infusion of talent with the addition of Parisa in the net and Maggie and Frederike joining the backline, while the attack will be benefitted by the additions of Taylor Miller and Taylor Vidovic.

"Top to bottom, this class is quite talented, athletic, and have all experienced success at very high levels of soccer. They are solid in the classroom and good citizens which continues to help us strengthen our team identity. These five student-athletes will go a long way to helping us get over the hump of just competing and into the realm of challenging for a Horizon League title."

Conrad, a defender, who was a two-time all-section and all-district honoree at South Park High, led her team to a state championship, state runner-up and a final four appearance during her high school campaign.

Dubeau, a defender, who earned first team all-league honors as a junior and senior at Kentlake High also played for Washington Premier FC, where she led her team to back-to-back semi-final appearances in the state tournament during 2008 and 2009.

Miller, a midfielder, was a three-year letterwinner at Avon Lake High, recording 39 goals and 11 assists, and was a crucial part of her Cleveland Internationals club team that won the Super Y League North American Championship in the U17 division last year.

Sadrnia, a goalkeeper, who was a three-year starter at Athens High, led her team to a 9-1-2 record after recording a .690 GAA during her junior season. She was also an integral part of the Bloomfield Force, which was ranked 10th nationally during 2009.

Vidovic, a forward, who was a three-time, first team all-conference honoree at Twinsburg High after recording 44 goals and 16 assists during her high school campaign, led her team to back-to-back league titles as a junior and senior.

A biography on each of the five additions follows.

2010 Cleveland State University Women's Soccer Recruiting Class Biographies

Maggie Conrad
5-6, Fr., Defender
South Park, Pa.

COACH FALOR'S COMMENTS:
"Maggie is exactly what we look for in a wing defender. She is quick both on and off the ball, physically strong, and always plays with tenacity. Additionally, Maggie is also quite good at getting forward up the flank and joining the attack. She consistently serves quality crosses and combines quite well with the front six. With her club, ODP, and high school teams she has played both centrally and out wide so she will bring us a very good understanding of how the whole backline should function. I truly expect great things from her and will be looking for her to immediately challenge for a starting spot out wide come August."

Frederike Dubeau
5-8, Fr., Defender
Kent, Wash.

COACH FALOR'S COMMENTS:
"Without a doubt, Freddy will become a cornerstone of our backline in the near future. She excels at all the necessary intangibles that a center back must provide to the team. She is solid in the air, fast enough to always be in the right spot, is a great communicator and stays composed under pressure. In the years I've been watching her; she has consistently proven to be a fierce competitor and always makes an impact on the game. The focus she brings to the center of the field should allow us to be more effective at locking down opponents and sending our wing defenders forward."

HIGH SCHOOL:
Earned first team all-league honors as a junior and senior at Kentlake High...served as the captain of the team as a junior and senior...played for Washington Premier FC where she led her team to back-to-back semi-final appearances in the state tournament during 2008 and 2009.

Taylor Miller
5-4, Fr., Midfielder
Avon Lake, Ohio

COACH FALOR'S COMMENTS:
"Taylor is the consummate wing mid who is also a capable forward. She often flies under the radar as her game is consistent without being flashy. She can cross a ball with the best of them, is a tireless worker up and down the touchline, and efficient when it comes to finishing. I've watched her score crucial goals in big games and make it look easy, like a walk in the park. The technical side to her game is very sound and is what has allowed her to be a significant player for her national championship club team. Her drive and focus to constantly seek out ways to improve will allow her to become an impact player on our team and in our conference right from the start."

HIGH SCHOOL:
Three-year letterwinner at Avon Lake High...opted to sit out her senior year at Avon Lake to play for the Cleveland Internationals where she led her team to a Super Y League North American Championship in the U17 division...the Cleveland Internationals also won a region II regional championship and a state cup championship en route to the national championship...had a standout sophomore season at Avon Lake, earning Lorain County MVP honors, first team Lorain County, Greater Cleveland and Southwestern Conference accolades and was the point and scoring leader under head coach Caleb Reutter...led her team to a district title as a freshman...ended her high school career with 39 goals and 11 assists for 89 points.

Parisa Sadrnia
5-8, Fr., Goalkeeper
Troy, Mich.

COACH FALOR'S COMMENTS:
"We are very excited to add Parisa to our team. Her energy and commitment to excellence is infectious and was what drew us to her from the start. She's fearless in her box and aggressive coming off the line, deals very well with high balls, and organizes her backline with authority. The fact that she was able to graduate early from high school and join us this spring is quite a testament to her strength of character and drive. Without a doubt she will add a lot to our program this fall after getting a spring semester under her belt to work out all the typical freshman nerves."

Taylor Vidovic
5-9, Fr., Forward
Twinsburg, Ohio

COACH FALOR'S COMMENTS:
"Taylor will be a great addition to our front line. As we've moved away from playing with three up top, we've found that it is our preference to put forwards out on the field that have lots of pure speed and always pose a threat to the opponent. Taylor is that to a `T'. She's willing to pressure the opposition and do the dirty work when needed and loves to run at defenders. We especially like how well she makes second and diagonal runs and love that she will pair well with our current group of forwards on the roster. She always brings a ton of energy to the field and will certainly infuse our attack with personality and dangerous penetrating runs."

HIGH SCHOOL:
Four-year letterwinner at Twinsburg High...led her team to league titles as a junior and senior...earned first team all-conference accolades following her sophomore, junior and senior seasons...named second team all-greater Cleveland as a sophomore and junior and first team all-greater Cleveland as a senior...ended her high school career with 44 goals and 16 assists...also participated in track, earning first team all-conference accolades.
