CLEVELAND, Ohio - Fresh off their best season in program history, including setting records for overall wins (10), goals scored (25) and fewest goals allowed (22), the Cleveland State women's soccer team has continued to improve its ranks by signing six high school student-athletes to national letters of intent.

Head coach Derrek Falor made the announcement on Wednesday (Feb. 1).

Signing with the Vikings are Chloe Fadenholz (Brookpark, Ohio), Jen Jankowski (Medina, Ohio), Erin O'Toole (Parma Heights, Ohio), Sam Sarmento (Sylvania, Ohio), Haleigh Shingary (Brunswick, Ohio) and Allie Sieradzki (Westerville, Ohio).

"This signing class as a whole is going to make big impact on our program," Falor said. "The talent level is very good, maybe even great in a couple cases, with an emphasis on attacking and one-on-one personality players.

"Having three players from this class be named first team all-state and another second team all-state performer is a solid validation that this group is going to elevate our program right away. We feel that this group from top to bottom is reflective of the emerging success we are having, in that each and every one of these student-athletes are very good players and fantastic students. We are all very proud to announce this group and finally be able to officially call them Vikings."

Fadenholz was a three-year letterwinner at Berea H.S., earning second team all-state and first team all-area honors as a senior when she helped the team to the district final.

Known as one of the best on-ball defenders in the state last season, Jankowski earned first team All-Ohio and all-region accolades. She helped Medina H.S. to four shutouts last season and was a starter on their state title team as a sophomore.

A four-year letter winner at Holy Name H.S., O'Toole helped her team to 48 wins over her four seasons. She was a first team all-state, all-region, all-league and all-area honoree as a senior.

Sarmento was a second team all-district and all-league honoree as a senior when she also served as team captain. She was part of three regional finalist squads, including the regional championship team in 2011 that advanced to the state final four.

Shingary totaled 32 goals during her high school career, leading her team to three league and four district titles. She was a first team all-league and all-area selection as a senior.

A first team All-Ohio, all-region and all-league selection as a senior, Sieradzki will provide CSU with a physical presence up top. She scored 41 career goals, including 14 as a sophomore, 10 as a junior and 12 her senior year. A three-time team captain, Sieadzki earned second team all-league honors as a sophomore.

A biography on each of the National Letter of Intent signees follows.

Chloe Fadenholz

COACH FALOR'S COMMENTS
"Chloe is a very special player who has flown under the radar a bit and we are lucky to have landed her as a Viking. She is a fantastic one-on-one player with great technical ability to break down defenders off the dribble. She has excellent speed, loads of confidence, is very coachable and will certainly elevate our offense in the final third."

Jen Jankowski

COACH FALOR'S COMMENTS
"Jen is a versatile player who can play anywhere along the back line for us. We initially envision her challenging for minutes as a wing defender as she likes to attack out of the back, serve quality entry balls and has the fitness to get up and down the touchline very well. She does have a physical bite to her game which allows her to slide in and play as a center back too when needed. She has proven her toughness and leadership in the last year after recovering from a torn ACL to get back to playing at the top of her game."

"We couldn't be more excited to add Erin to our team. She is the consummate center back and will immediately elevate our defending group. She is a great leader, has an impressive ability to be physical when needed and has the speed to deal with all types of opponents. Over the last two years, her ball skills have grown to where she is a solid option to start our offensive build-ups. She will clearly challenge for a starting defensive role right away next fall."

"Sam will be a very sound addition to our midfield. We love her ability to play the final pass and switch the point of attack. She always has a great fitness base and through her on-field leadership, was able to lead her high school team deep into the state playoffs. She has shown us that she will come up big in key games and always keeps her composure. Without a doubt, she will give us a high quality option at holding midfielder."

"Haleigh is going to be a great addition to our front six this coming August. The strong points in her skill set make it so that she could play any number of roles in our attack. She is strong on the ball in one-on-one opportunities, plays a tight final pass and is extremely good at shooting from the top of the box. Over the last year or so in recovering from a torn ACL, she has rounded out her game by adding in the ability to facilitate goal scoring chances for other attacking players."

She is a huge physical presence up top, has very good speed and combines really well with her back to goal. Her confidence to run at defenders is growing and she is always looking to shoot. Her work rate is top notch and she has proven to be incredibly coachable. We think she is just scratching the surface of her abilities and can't wait to add her into our attacking group."
