FAIRBORN, Ohio -- Wright State scored three goals in the first 21 minutes of the match, including the first just 2:14 into the contest, as the Raiders knocked off Cleveland State, 5-1 on Friday night (Oct. 21).

"It was a tale of two halves for us tonight," head coach Derrek Falor said. "We were flat and didn't do a very good job defensively in the first half, especially at the midfield.

"Everything changed at the break. We came out in the second half and were able to eliminate our mistakes and we played them even for the last 45 minutes. We played with a lot of heart, especially considering that a lot of other teams would have just given up if they were down four goals at half."

The Raiders opened the scoring in the third minute when Kelly Kammer's cross was redirected on the first touch to the far post. Jodi Shoaf scored the first of her two goals at the 12:22 mark when she fielded a short pass from Chianese from the baseline and beat Viking goalkeeper Erin Withrow to the short side.

Stephanie Habner and Kristen Olson each added first half goals, the last coming on an Olson breakaway with one-second left in the first half to put Wright State ahead, 4-0 at the break.

Cleveland State scored its lone goal of the contest at the 53:52 mark when freshman Michelle Sanker scored to the far post following a corner kick from Lisa Conway. It was Sanker's first goal of her career while Conway picked up her team-leading third assist.

WSU closed out the scoring when Shoaf added her second marker in the 62nd minute.

Erin Withrow, who entered the match leading the Horizon League in both saves (100) and saves per game (6.7), made seven saves in the contest.

"The final score wasn't indicative of the effort that Erin gave tonight," Falor said. "She came off her line very well and took away countless scoring chances that don't show up on her save total. The final score would have been much worse without her."

Cleveland State closes the regular season next week with road matches at Loyola (Oct. 28) on Friday and Youngstown State on Sunday (Oct. 30).
