FAIRBORN, Ohio - Wright State's Amber Kasmer and Nicole Amador tallied a goal and an assist each as the Raiders defeated Cleveland State, 4-0, in Horizon League action Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field.

"We came out flat and they took advantage of a couple of our mistakes and it cost us goals," head coach Derrick Falor said. "We can't do that against a good team, especially on the road.

"We did do some nice things defensively, but we didn't possess the ball or control play and that hurt us."

The Raiders (9-3-0, 2-0-0 HL) jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 12:21 into the match when Amy Miller took a pass from Kasmer and beat CSU goalkeeper Kelly Zinkiewich to the far post from 18 yards out for her team-leading sixth goal of the season.

Just five minutes later, WSU made it 2-0 when Kasmer netted a breakaway goal off an assist from Jenna Cooper.

The match remained that way until the 61:40 mark when Megan Mattioda found Nicole Amador with a pass in the middle of the box which Amador received and put into the back of the net.

Wright State finished the scoring less than five minutes later when Stephanie Habner netted her first goal of the season on a rebound from 10 yards out.

WSU's Angie Baker and Meghan Hackerson recorded two saves apiece to combine for the shutout, while Zinkiewich posted seven saves.

The Raiders dominated the statistics as they outshot CSU, 26-6, and attempted eight corner kicks to the Vikings one. Senior Heather Clapacs took four of CSU's six shots.

The Vikings (3-10-0, 0-3-0 HL) will be out of action until they travel to Youngstown State on Friday for a 7:00 pm match.

"This is an important week for us," Falor said. "We have a couple of extra days to prepare and get ready for Youngstown State on Friday."
