STRONGSVILLE -- Casey Cornely scored a pair of goals and Wright State tallied three goals in a four-minute span early in the second half as the Raiders defeated Cleveland State, 6-0, on Wednesday night at Foltz Field.

"This was a complete turnaround from Sunday afternoon (vs. UW-Milwaukee)," head coach Derrek Falor said. "We played without any intensity or emotion and the final score is indicative of our effort. I was optimistic heading into this week because we played a great match on Sunday, but tonight we took a couple of big steps backward.

The Raiders opened up the scoring just 9:28 into the match when Cornely's shot from 20 yards out skimmed off the crossbar and past goalie Ashley Kidwell. It was the first of five Raider goals that were scored from 15 yards out or better.

Trailing 2-0 at half, Cleveland State appeared to pick up the level of intensity after the intermission, but Wright State's Jenny Tamms goal at the 52:51 mark was quickly followed by markers by Megan Mattioda (53:50) and Cornely (56:29) to put the match out of reach.

Wright State dominated statistically as well, outshooting the Vikings, 24-3. Kidwell matched her career high with 13 saves while the Raider goalie tandem of Steph Comisar and BethAnn Meyer made no saves in recording the shutout.

Cleveland State, which dropped to 0-13 on the year and 0-2 in Horizon League play, travels to Detroit on Friday for a 3:00 p.m. match at Titan Field.
