Abbie Kakias, a recent CSU graduate and a four-year letterwinner on the Viking women's soccer squad, is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Vikings.

During a club match in June of 2004, the program's inaugural year, Kakias suffered a torn ACL in her left knee and required season-ending knee surgery. She redshirted to regain a year of eligibility and came back stronger than ever in 2005.

From 2005-2008 Kakias started 75 of 78 games including three seasons in which she didn't miss a start.

During her freshman season, she finished second on the team in goals (2), points (5), shots (22) and shots on goal (14). Kakias was able to score for the first time at Ohio and then also against Butler while earning her first letter.

She played multiple positions over her career and was described as the most dynamic defender on the team by head coach Derrek Falor.

A native of Painesville, Kakias received her degree in physical education from CSU in 2008.
