Cleveland State Names Erica Ludwikowsk Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Erica Ludwikowski has been named the Assistant Coach of the Cleveland State women's soccer team, as announced by head coach Mark Sappington.

"I am thrilled to welcome Erica to the program," said Coach Sappington. "Erica's ability as a coach to relate to and educate student-athletes is fantastic. She is a student of the game and works tirelessly to not only grow and develop herself but everyone around her. In addition to the above, her "others-centered" mentality is exactly what we were looking for from a cultural standpoint. I am excited to see the immense impact she will have on the team."

Ludwikowski arrives after spending the last four seasons as an assistant coach at Slippery Rock University. In her time, Slippery Rock went 31-12-13 overall with three PSAC tournament appearances. She assisted with 15 All-PSAC players including five on the first team and ten on the second team.

Ludwikowski had this to say about her time at Slippery Rock: "It was an honor and privilege to have been a part of such an amazing women's soccer program with so many awesome student-athletes. I am extremely thankful for Head Coach Jessie Giegucz and the positive impact she has had on me from both a professional and personal development standpoint."

Ludwikowski played four seasons in the midfield at Rider University, appearing in 41 games with eight starts. She tallied two goals and four assists for eight points in her career. Off the field, Ludwikowski was a four-year MAAC All-Academic honoree.

"I would like to thank Interim Director of Athletics Kelsie Gory Harkey, Assistant Athletic Director and interim women's soccer sports administrator Brandon Longmeier, and the Cleveland State University Athletic Department for welcoming me into this incredibly passionate Viking community," said Ludwikowski. "I also would like to thank Mark for this opportunity and for trusting me in this role as we look to grow this program together. I am excited to help guide and mentor our current student-athletes and future Vikings in hopes of setting them up for future success both on and off the field."

Ludwikowski graduated from Rider University with a dual Bachelor's degree in sport management and leadership. She went on to obtain a Master's degree in student affairs in higher education from Slippery Rock in 2022.
