MATCH RECAP

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland State rallied behind goals from Grace Krosky and Rylee Bussen to net a 2-2 draw with Oakland in a Horizon League match on Sunday on Krenzler Field.

The Vikings fell behind 2-0 when Sophie Wilsey netted her second goal of the match at the 52:42 mark of the second period, but Cleveland State would find an answer.

Bussen scored her first career goal off a set piece. Lina Feltovich took the kick and Bussen scored on the receiving end to trim the lead to 2-1 at the 70:58 mark of the second period.

Cleveland State, which is 3-6-3 overall and 1-2-1 in the Horizon League, tied the match at the 86:26 mark of the second period when Krosky found a loose ball in front of the cage and beat Jaimie Leas for the tying goal.

Stevie Holbrook, who made five saves, made a pair of outstanding saves to keep the match deadlocked.

Oakland, which is 3-5-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the Horizon League, got a pair of goals from Wilsey and owned a 14-10 advantage in shots.

Elena Gutlove led Cleveland State with three shots, while Krosky, Bussen, Essence Canady, Briana Niedermeier, Toni Dickson, Elaina Walnoha and Helena Novatsidis each had one shot for Cleveland State.

The Vikings return to action on Saturday (Oct. 12) when they visit Northern Kentucky in a Horizon League match.
