Sargema & Sarsfield Earn All-Ohio Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State senior women's soccer players Kaila Sargema (Canyon County, Calif.) and Marissa Sarsfield (Springdale, Pa.) were named to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association All-Ohio teams that were announced on Tuesday.

Sargema was named to the OCSA All-Ohio second team, while Sarsfield was voted to the Academic All-Ohio second team.

Sargema earned second team All-Horizon League honors for the third straight year, joining Natalie Daniels as the only players in program history to earn all-league honors three times. Daniels was a two-time first team selection (2010, 2011) and two-time second team pick (2008, 2009).

Sargema led the team in goals (5) and points (10) this year, becoming just the second player in school history to lead the team in goals and points in consecutive seasons (Vickie Havas; 2012-13).

She finished her career ranked third in school history in goals (17) and points (36).

Sarsfield was named to the Academic All-Ohio team for carrying a 3.96 GPA as a chemical engineering major. A member of the Horizon League Women's Soccer All-Academic team for the last two years, she was a mainstay in the CSU backline during her four-year career.

Sarsfield started 64 of her 70 career matches, becoming the 11th player in program history to appear in 70 career games. Sarsfield helped the Vikings to 18 shutouts during her career, including a school-record seven in 2014.
