CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's soccer team has earned the No. 6 seed in the Horizon League Championship and will open play with a 7:00 pm first round match at third-seeded Northern Kentucky on Monday night.

This will be the ninth time that CSU will play in the Horizon League tournament and the second straight season. Last year, the Vikings played to a 1-1 double overtime tie at Oakland in a first round game before falling in a dramatic shootout, 8-7.

The Vikings finished the regular season with an 8-9-1 overall record and 4-5 in the league, while NKU will enter the tournament with a 10-5-1 overall record and a 6-2-1 league record.

In the regular season meeting between the two teams, the Vikings earned a 2-1 double overtime win at NKU. Trailing 1-0 late in the game, the Vikings used a goal from Kaila Sargema with five minutes left to force overtime and Sargema would tally the game winner with 21 seconds to play.

Fourth-seeded Wright State will host fifth-seeded Valparaiso in Monday's other first round game.

Top-seeded Milwaukee and second-seeded Oakland received bye into the semifinals with Milwaukee hosting the semifinals on Thursday and the championship match on Saturday.
