Sargema Named Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State junior forward Kaila Sargema was named the Horizon League Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon for her performance last week.

Sargema earned the honor after scoring both goals in CSU's 2-1 double overtime win at Northern Kentucky on Saturday night. Sargema evened the match at 1-1 with her first goal with just 5:29 to play and scored the game-winner in double overtime with 21 seconds to play.

The win secured a key three points for the Vikings against NKU, a team that entered the match with a perfect 5-0 record.

The Vikings improved to 8-6-1 overall and 4-2 in League play with the win.

Sargema is tied for third in the Horizon League with six goals and ranks seventh with 14 points, both tops on the team.

Sargema and the Vikings are back in action for two matches this week, traveling to Wright State for a 7:00 p.m. match on Wednesday (Oct. 21) and hosting Oakland at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 24) in the regular season home finale.
