Havas Named Horizon League Player of the Week After Setting CSU Career Record

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State senior Vickie Havas (Stow, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in CSU's 1-0 win over Detroit on Saturday night at Krenzler Field.

It is the second Player of the Week away for Havas this year, who also claimed the honor on Aug. 31.

Havas scored the lone goal of the match in the 77th minute to give the Vikings a win in their Horizon League opener.

The goal allowed Havas to move into first place on the all-time goals scored list at CSU with 20, moving her out of a tie with Natalie Daniels who scored 19 goals from 2008-11. In addition, Havas upped her career point total to 51, just seven shy of moving past Daniels into the top spot on the CSU career list.

Havas has scored four goals this year, all of which have been game-winners.

The Vikings (5-4-1, 1-0 HL) return to action on Wednesday (Sept. 30) night when CSU hosts Youngstown State at 7:00 pm at Krenzler Field.
