Sieradzki Scores Two Goals, But Vikings Fall at St. Bonaventure, 3-2

OLEAN, N.Y. - Allie Sieradzki scored two goals, but St. Bonaventure scored three second half goals to claim a 3-2 victory over Cleveland State in the final game of the SBU Alumni Classic on Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings slipped to 3-3-1 with the loss, while the Bonnies improved to 2-2-2.

Sieradzki put the Vikings on the board with an unassisted goal in the 21st minute and made it 2-0 just eight minutes into the second half when she headed in a corner kick from Katie Bainbridge.

However, St. Bonaventure would score three unaswered goals over a seven minute span to claim a 3-2 lead and hold off the Vikings to earn the win.

The Bonnies tallied their first goal at the 69:52 mark when Abby Maiello took a crossing pass from Jessica Scruggs and netted a goal. Just 36 seconds later, the Bonnies tied the match on a Scruggs goal and SBU would take the lead in the 77th minute on a goal by Danielle Vis.

CSU had chances to tie the match, but SBU goalkeeper Christina Sarokon saved a Haleigh Shingary shot in the 77th minute and another shot by Vickie Havas with 10 seconds to play.

Sieradzki and junior Marissa Sarsfield were both named to the Alumni Classic All-Tournament team.

The Vikings are back in action on Friday (Sept. 11) when CSU returns home for the first time in five matches with a 7:00 p.m. contest against Canisius.
