Vikings Win at Ohio, 2-0

ATHENS, Ohio - Cleveland State used second half goals from Vickie Havas and Elise Sailors and a clean sheet from Jamie Daniels in a 2-0 shutout at Ohio on Sunday afternoon.

For Vento, it was her team-leading fourth assist in as many matches this year.

The lead was extended to 2-0 just nine minutes later when Sailors knocked in a loose ball from the penalty spot. Kaila Sargema started the play by sending in a cross where it was knocked it to Sailors who was waiting a the penalty spot where she beat the keeper to the left.

That was all the offense CSU needed as the Viking defense posted its second shutout of the season behind eight saves in goal from Jamie Daniels. The center back pair of Marissa Sarsfield and Sydney McCourt, as well as a rotation of fullbacks that included Erin O'Toole, Carly Cerny, Samantha Sarmento, Katie Bainbridge and Allie Sieradzki helped earn the shutout.
