Sargema's Goal Lifts CSU Past Niagara, 1-0

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Kaila Sargema scored a goal late in the first half to lift Cleveland State to a 1-0 victory over Niagara on Saturday afternoon at Krenzler Field in an exhibition match.

Sargema took a cross from McKenna Vento right in front of the goal and knocked in what proved to be the game-winning goal. Vento, a freshman, finished up a strong preseason, which included a goal in Tuesday's win at Buffalo.

Sargema's goal came with 4:01 to play in the first half.

Jamie Daniels started in goal and played the first 45 minutes, while Sarah Wood was in the net for the final 45 minutes.

The Vikings open the 2015 regular season on Friday (Aug. 21) when CSU hosts Butler at 7:00 p.m. at Krenzler Field. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
