CLEVELAND, Ohio - Western Michigan scored with 14 minutes left and held off a late flurry by Cleveland State to claim a 1-0 victory on Friday night at Krenzler Field.

The Vikings fell to 0-3 this year, while WMU improved to 2-0.

The game-winning goal came with 14:01 left in the game when Diana Dedvukaj sent a through ball to Emma Kahn on the right wing. Kahn worked her way into the box and sent a shot to the far post for her second goal of the season.

The goal came just six minutes after CSU's Sarah Wood saved consecutive point blank shots from the Broncos.

CSU had a few good chances for an equalizer late in the contest, but a shot by Sarah Kaiser was wide and the Vikings could not finish a chance in the box off a corner kick from Amanda Sivic.

Wood finished with five saves for CSU.

The Vikings are back in action on Sunday (Aug. 31) when CSU travels to Chicago State for a 2:00 p.m. EST match.
