CLEVELAND - Just two days after winning her fourth career tournament title, junior Kristen Obush was named the Horizon League Golfer of the Week. The league office made the announcement on Wednesday evening.

Playing in the Youngstown State Invitational at Salem Hills Golf Club on Sunday and Monday (April 17-18), Obush finished tied with Butler's Lynnsey Showers at 154 after 36 holes. On the first playoff hole (the par-5 10th), Showers hit her second shot to within 20 feet, putting the pressure squarely on Obush. The Indiana, Pa. native responded, following her 285-yard drive up with a five iron to within five feet of the hole. After Showers narrowly missed her eagle bid, Obush stepped up and made her putt to claim medalist honors.

Obush was one of only two players in the tournament to post two rounds in the 70s, carding scores of 79 and 75.

Cleveland State is next in action again when the Vikings travel to Galena, Ohio for the Horizon League Championship at Royal American Golf Club on May 2-3.
