TEEING OFF: Cleveland State continues its early season spring schedule when the Vikings head to Farmville, Va., to compete in the 54-hole Tina Barrett Longwood Invite at The Manor Resort Golf Club, a par-72, 6,108-yard trek. The two-day event will run from Monday through Tuesday (March 30-31).

LAST TIME OUT: Cleveland State finished 10th of 12 teams at the 54-hole Winthrop Invitational at Rock Hill Golf Club. The team was forced to play short-handed for the second time this year when freshman Brittany Keiter withdrew from the tournament after the second day of competition due to back pain. Despite the pressure for all four scores to count towards a team score the Vikings posted their lowest team total of the tournament with a 342 in the final round.

THE HEAD COACH: In his second season as head coach, Steve Weir is continuing to build and improve the CSU program. In his three years of involvement with the squad, the Vikings have posted two fourth place finishes at the Horizon League Championship, an improvement from the previous year's fifth place finish.

DÉJÀ VU: The Vikings were forced to play the final round of the Winthrop Invitational with just four players after Brittany Keiter withdrew due to a back injury. However, CSU posted its lowest score of the tournament at 342. The same thing happened at the Vikings final fall event, the Austin Peay Invitational, when four players combined to shoot 342-335.

FRESHMAN LEAPS INTO LINEUP: Freshman Brittany Keiter is only half-way through her first year and is turning heads already. Keiter posted two rounds in the 70's in the fall, a feat only accomplished by two other players in CSU history. These rounds have helped contribute to her third lowest scoring average on the team (86.0).

A RECORD BREAKING FALL: The Vikings broke their team scoring record not once but twice during the fall season. The first time occured at the Ball State Fall Classic when CSU carded a 316 only to better that with a score of 315 in the second round at the Marshall Lady Herd Classic.

HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?: Senior Mallory Wyderka and junior Katie Broere are both on the heels of former Viking Kristen Obush's season low scoring average, of 80.5 which was set in 2005-06. Broere leads the team with a 79.1 scoring average, while Wyderka is at 84.6.

HOME COURSE ADVANTAGE: The Vikings will host their first tournament in program history on April 20th at Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinkley, Ohio. The one-day 36-hole event is rare in its format but allows for 36-hole preparation for the Horizon League Championship. Expected competitors include Youngstown State, Bowling Green and Detroit.

UP NEXT: CSU returns to action on April 12-13 when the Vikings compete at the Loyola Invitational.
