VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Cleveland State's fall season came to a close on Tuesday with the Vikings posting a seventh-place finish at the TPC of Virginia Beach Invitational. Hosted by Old Dominion, the nine-team field was competing at the 5,867 yard, par 72 TPC course. Kristen Obush turned in a 76 in the final round to move into a tie for 13th at 157.

Winthrop claimed the team title thanks in part to a tournament record 298 in the final round. The Eagles' 36-hole total of 604 was 11 shots better than runner-up Columbia. William & Mary was in third at 622.

Winthrop's Erin White claimed medalist honors with consecutive rounds of 73 for a two-over par, 146. She topped UC-Riversides Lindsay Snowden by three shots, while Columbia's Esther Gweon was another stroke back in third place.

CSU's Ashley Davidson (T-32nd) and Amanda Glatfelter (37th) both shaved nine shots off of their opening round scores to finish at 173 and 177, respectively.

"We could have given up after struggling yesterday, but we dug in and put together a decent round today," CSU head coach Tom Porten said. "We made progress this fall in our execution, now we need to work on our consistency. I'm confident we'll be a much better team in the spring."

The Vikings will hit the links again when the schedule resumes in March.
