CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Cleveland State carded a first round 342 and is in 16th place out of 17 teams after the first round of the F&M Bank Austin Peay Intercollegiate on Monday.

The two-day, 36-hole event is being played at the par-72, 6,841-yard Clarksville C.C.

CSU is playing the tournament with just four players as the other team members remained home due to illness. Therefore, all four players had their scores count, while every other team counted the low four scores of five players.

"It's a little more challenging to play with four players because they all know that their score is going to count and there isn't that safety net," head coach Steve Weir said. "The course played pretty tough today so I was happy with our overall performance today."

Senior Mallory Wyderka is tied for 12th place after and opening round 79 (42-37), while junior Katie Broere is tied for 41st at 83 (41-42).

The tournament will conclude with the final round on Tuesday (Oct. 21) beginning at 9:00 a.m.
