FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Cleveland State shot a final round 331 and finished 10th of 11 teams with a 36-hole total of 649 at the IPFW Fall Classic on Tuesday. The event was played at the par-72, 5,995-yard Deer Track Golf Course.

"We got off to a sluggish start, but had to battle miserable conditions," assistant coach Nathan Miklos said. "Several of the greens were underwater before we had a half-hour delay, but we had already played nine holes.

"We really hung in there as a team and finished the round strong," Miklos said. "I'm proud of how we finished, but we still need to get better at some things. The fall season gave us a chance to see where we are at as a team."

Butler (608) rallied from a six-stroke deficit and shot a 306 Tuesday to claim an eight-shot win over second place IUPUI (616). Loyola and Tennessee Tech tied for third place at 620, while IPFW was one shot back in fifth place.

Kellie Marshall of IUPUI followed Monday's 67 with a 77 to earn medalist honors (144) by two shots over teammate Tara Boone (146).

Mallory Wyderka and Katie Broere tied for 25th place with 36-hole totals of 159 to lead the Vikings.

The event was the final one on CSU's fall schedule. They will return to action in March when they begin their fall schedule which has not been announced.
