Vikings Finish 11th at Zippy Invitational

FAIRLAWN, Ohio - Cleveland State carded a final round 345 and moved up one spot to finish 11th of 12 teams at the 3rd Annual Zippy Invitational on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,025-yard Rosemont C.C.

The Vikings opened with rounds of 335 and 337 on Monday.

"The scores might not be where we would like to have them, but this is a difficult course and I thought we did a good job of battling and staying in there," assistant coach Nathan Miklos said. "We have some things to work on and areas to improve, but we'll take care of that as we look toward our final fall event next week."

Sophomore Ariel Sparrow carded a final round 86 and tied for 12th place at 241 (77-78-86). It was her second top-20 finish this fall.

Sophomore Lisa Barber had CSU's low round today, firing an 84 and to finish tied for 37th at 253 (83-86-84).

The Vikings will conclude their fall campaign when CSU competes in the MAC Preview on Oct. 18-19 in Columbus, Ohio.
