FISHERS, Ind. - Cleveland State knocked two shots off its first round and carded a final round 322 to finish 12th of 14 teams at the MAC Preview that concluded on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,127-yard Hawthorns Golf & Country Club.
"I thought we played well again today and it was nice to see us knock a few shots off from the first round," assistant coach Doug Barber said. "We are continuing to make progress this fall and I feel that we are in a good place right now. We have one more fall tournament so we'll work hard over the next few days and come out and try to post a couple low numbers."
Sophomore Madeline Kaminski followed her career-low 74 in the first round with a 78 today and tied for seventh place overall at 152. She finished just three shots out of first place and two shots out of second place.
"Madeline had a great two days," Barber said. "She didn't make too many mistakes and really hit the ball well. This was a very intimidating golf course, but I thought she did a nice job of managing it and putting herself in good positions to score."
Ariel Sparrow and Colleen Miller each shot 80 today to help the Vikings take two shots off yesterday's first round. Micaela Cronin added an 84 as CSU's fourth scorer today.
Playing as an individual, junior Lisa Barber shot a 76 today.
The Vikings will conclude their fall schedule when CSU competes at the Zippy Invitational in Akron on Oct. 17-18.
