The Cleveland State women's golfers carded a 383-364---747 at the Golden Grizzly Invitational this weekend, finishing sixth at Katke-Cousins Golf Course in Rochester, Mich.
Freshman Kristen Obush (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) took top team honors with a 91-86---177 score and a 21st-place finish. Sophomores Tori Kastl (Hinkley, Ohio/Medina) and Carma Rieck (Southport, Ind./Southport) finished 27th and 28th, respectively, carding scores of 95-89---184 and 92-95---187.
The golfers from Youngstown State held off a resurgent Grand Valley State team to take top team honors, carding a 334-336---670, just one stroke better than Grand Valley's 345-326---671. Shannon Briggs of Grand Valley, competing as an individual in the tournament, took individual medallist honors with a score of 82-80---162.
The Vikings will conclude their fall campaign at the Malone College Invitational on October 11-12 at Tannenhauf Golf Course.
