FAIRLAWN, Ohio - Cleveland State junior Katie Broere carded a final round 79, her third straight round in the 70's, and finished tied for seventh at the Akron Zippy Invitational that concluded on Tuesday morning.

The 54-hole event, CSU's first such event of the fall season, was contested at the at the par-72, 6,060-yard Rosemont C.C.

Broere, who entered the day in seventh place in the individual race, helped the Vikings maintain their hold on ninth place as CSU shot a final round 346 to finish ninth out of 12 teams.

"The course was definatley a lot tougher today," assistant coach Nathan Miklos said. "They got some rain last night and it was pretty windy. We do have to find a way to shoot better in our final round and try to move up in the standings.

"Katie was great for us both days. She really carried us and did what she has to do for us. Hopefully, she can keep that up for our final two fall tournaments."

Freshman Brittany Keiter (82-91-85) and junior Laren Beese (76-86-93) both tied for 47th place for CSU at 258.
