HINCKLEY, Ohio - Cleveland State carded a final round 327 and placed sixth of 11 teams at the CSU Invitational that concluded on Tuesday at the par-73, 5,908-yard Pine Hills G.C.

"This was a disappointing day because I thought we had a chance to finish in the top three after yesterday's round," head coach Steve Weir said. "The conditions were not great, but we made too many mistakes and it cost us in the end. We were not very sharp with the wedges and didn't putt great and that always comes back to haunt you. We'll have to figure things out and get sharper before our next event."

Sophomore Shelly Ford was a bright spot for the Vikings, tying for 11th place with rounds of 78-80 (158). Ariel Sparrow tied for 17th place at 160 (81-79).

Freshman Colleen Miller posted two strong rounds of 81-80 (161) and finished tied for 19th place, playing as an individual.

"There were some positives out there today, but we just need to find a way to be more consistent over the course of two days," Weir said. "Hopefully that will come with more practice and tournament experience."

The Vikings are now out of action until Oct. 10-11 when CSU competes in the MAC Preview in Fishers, Ind.
