Yorktown, Ind. - Two-day totals of 159 from Ariel Sparrow, Madeline Kaminski and Shelly Ford helped Cleveland State total a 645, placing them seventh in the 10-team Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State University.

That trio all tied for 25th place, while Micaela Cronin finished with a 168 to tie for 49th. Lisa Barber rounded out the scoring, placing 59th with a 174.

All five scoring Vikings recorded a better score on Sunday than they did on day one.

None improved more dramatically than Kaminski. She shot the best round of any Viking over the two-day event when she came in with a 76 at The Players Club Golf Course, a par-72 track located in Yorktown, Ind.

As individuals, Colleen Miller totaled a 163 to finish tied for 38th and Steff Camarata tallied a 190 to come in 65th.

The Sunday score of 316 was 13 strokes better than the first round on Saturday. Entering the final round, Cleveland State was tied for eighth with Northern Illinois, but the Vikings were six shots better than Northern Illinois on day two.

The Vikings will be in action early next week when they host the Cleveland State Invitational. The two-day event, held at Pine Hills Golf Course in Hinckley Hills, Golf Course, will get underway on Monday, Sept. 26.
