Yorktown, Ind. - A pair of 80s from Ariel Sparrow and Shelly Ford helped Cleveland State finish with a 329, tying them for eighth place after the first 18 holes at the Ball State Cardinal Classic. Northern Illinois equaled the Vikings score at The Players Club Golf Course, a par-72, 6,258-yard course in Yorktown, Ind.

Southern Illinois and the host Cardinals both came in at 301 to tie for first place.

By shooting 80, both Sparrow and Ford tied for 32nd place. Madeline Kaminski is tied for 41st after racking up an 83, while Micaela Cronin (86) and Lisa Barber (90) completed the team's scoring.

As individuals, Cleveland State's Colleen Miller shot 79 and Steff Camarata fired a 95.

The second round is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 18) with a shotgun start.
