MACOMB, Ill. - Cleveland State totaled a 663 to finish ninth at the 36-hole Western Illinois Autumn Invitational that concluded on Monday at the par-72, 6,054-yard, Harry Mussatto Golf Club.

"We played well enough today to move up one spot in the standings," CSU assistant coach Nathan Miklos said. "But there is definitely room for improvement and we know what we need to work on before our next tournament."

Drake (318-308; 626) carded a 308 in Monday's final round to rally from a four stroke deficit and claim a one shot win over first round leader Northern Illinois (314-313; 627).

Abbie Many of Northern Illinois claimed medalist honors with rounds of 74-76 (150). She outdistanced Molly Schemm and Ann Arnason of Northern Iowa who tied for second at 152.

Sophomore Katie Broere led the Vikings as she tied for ninth place with a 36-hole total of 82-75. It is the second straight tournament that Broere was the top CSU finisher and the second time in as many weeks that she fired a career-low 75 in round two.

CSU will have the next two weeks off before returning to competitive action on Oct. 8-9 at the Detroit Invitational.
