MACOMB, Ill. - Cleveland State shot a first round 332 and stands in 10th place following the first round of the Western Illinois Autumn Invitational on Sunday at the par-72, 6,054-yard, Harry Mussatto Golf Club.
Northern Illinois leads the 13-team field after carding an opening round 314, while Northern Iowa is three strokes back (317) in second place.
"Overall, I am pleased with how we played today," CSU assistant coach Nathan Miklos said. "We didn't play our best, but we hung in there and got the most out of our round on a pretty tough course. The scores are all bunched together, so a good round tomorrow will move us up."
Abbie Many of Northern Illinois tops the leaderboard after posting a 74 (37-37) on Sunday. She leads Ann Arnason (38-37; 75) by one shot heading into Sunday's final round.
CSU senior Amanda Glatfelter is tied for 13th place after an opening round 80 (38-42), while sophomore Laren Beese is tied for 22nd place following a first round 81 (39-42).
