LEWISBURG, Pa. - Micaela Cronin shot a career-low 77 and Lisa Barber added a 77 with a 35 on the back nine as Cleveland State opened play at the Bucknell Invitational with a school-record low round of 314 at the par-70, 5,863-yard Bucknell Golf Club.

The Vikings were in eighth place out of 15 teams at the conclusion of the first round. Teams played nine holes in round two before play was suspended due to rain. The final nine holes of the second round and the third and final round are slated to be played on Monday (Sept. 12).

"I thought we played very well today and you couldn't ask for a better start to the season," head coach Steve Weir said. "We played with a lot of confidence and really limited our mistakes. This group has really matured since last season and I'm looking forward to seeing what this team can do this year."

The old school record for lowest round was 315 set at the Marshall Invitational in 2008.

CSU is just four shots behind the trio of Hofstra, Radford and Bucknell who all shot 310.

Cronin's 77 marked the first time that she broke 80 in her career. It also included a 36 on the back nine. Cronin and Barber are tied for 16th place.

Ariel Sparrow is tied for 22nd after a 78, while Shelly Ford (82) and Madeline Kaminski(83) rounded out CSU's scoring.
