LEXINGTON, Ky. - Cleveland State carded rounds of 336 and 326 and is in third place after the first two rounds of the Horizon League Championship on Saturday at Kearney Hills G.C.

The Vikings, who have never finished higher than fourth place at the league tournament, are just one shot behind second place Loyola (661) and trail leader Youngstown State (650) by 12 shots heading into the final round.

CSU will be in the final grouping during Sunday's final 18 holes with its first golfer teeing off at 8:50 a.m.

"We played really well today and I am happy with where we are at," head coach Steve Weir said. "We kind of struggled to start the second round, but we regrouped and were able to post a good team score. If we can come out tomorrow and maintain good mental focus, the rest will take care of itself."

Junior Katie Broere shot 80-82 (162) and is in fourth place in the individual standings, while freshman Brittany Keiter is in ninth place following rounds of 87-78 (165).

Loyola's Nikki Miller leads with a two-round total of 157 (80-77).
