BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Cleveland State shot an opening round 361 and is in 11th place of 13 teams after the first day of the Bowling Green Falcon Invitational. The 36 hole event is being played at the par-72, 5,822-yard Stone Ridge G.C.

"It was pretty windy out there today, but I was happy with the way we hung tough and battled with such a young team," head coach Steve Weir said. "We have one more tune-up tomorow before next weekend's league championship so hopefull we will be able to work some things out and get prepared for next weekend."

Freshman Micaela Cronin paced the Vikings with an 87 today, tying her for 41st place. Freshman Steff Camarata, playing as an individual, shot an 88 and is tied for 44th, while freshman Shelly Ford is tied for 50th after a 90.

The Vikings conclude play at the BGSU Falcon Invitational with the final 18 holes on Sunday before heading to Flordia next weekend for the 54 hole Horizon League Championship from Friday through Sunday.
