MUNCIE, Ind. - Playing their final round before the Horizon League Championship in two weeks, the Cleveland State women's golf team carded a 340 in the final round of the Ball State Cardinal Classic on Monday morning at the par-71, 5,909-yard Delaware Country Club.

The Vikings finished 12th out of 12 teams at the 36-hole tournament following a 344 in Sunday's first round for a two-day total of 684.

"We were able to improve a little bit today, but overall it was a struggle and we never got anything going," head coach Steve Weir said. "We have two weeks to get ready for the conference championships and we know what we need to work on. We've hit a little rough stretch here the last two weeks, but we are going to work hard to prepare for the league championships."

Junior Mallory Wyderka and sophomore Katie Broere each shot 80 today and finished tied for 38th place after shooting rounds of 85 on Sunday.

Host Ball State fired rounds of 304-316 (620) to win the team title by four shots over Longwood (305-319).

Paige McCracken of Butler had rounds of 76 and 72 to earn medalist honors with a 148, one-shot better than Ashley Smith of Grand Valley State (78-71).

The Vikings are now out of action until April 26-27 when CSU will compete in the Horizon League Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.
