Lewisburg, Pa. - Cleveland State freshman golfer Kristen Obush (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) carded a two-round total of 154 (78-76) to take first place at the Lady Bison Classic, hosted by Bucknell University. Obush edged out Jennifer Cronan of Harvard by three strokes, posting a tournament-low 76 in the final round.
Obush's performance at the Bison Classic is the second first-place finish of her collegiate career. At the Malone College Invitational on Oct. 11-12, 2002, she recorded an 80-83---163 in taking medalist honors.
As a team, the Vikings picked up a sixth-place showing out of a field of 15 teams, shooting a combined 343-339---682. Sophomore Tori Kastl (Hinckley, Ohio/Medina) shot an 83-85---168 for an 18th-place finish overall, while sophomore Nancy Bowling (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lebanon) recorded a 37th-place score of 87-89---176.
Cleveland State will continue their spring season on Apr. 13-14 when they participate in the Ashland Invitational.
